Mechanical neck pain is the most common form of neck pain. This can occur due to minor injury, overstretch of muscles or bad posture i.e. sitting, leaning towards, a computer at work all day. Initially the pain centers around the neck area but can spread to the shoulders and head. Any movement of the neck may make the pain worse. Symptoms due begin to improve within a few days, however, seek medical advice if the pain persists.
