If lower back pain perisits for more than 12 weeks, it is said to be

Self Help
- Remain active: Try to remain active. This can help you get better and
reduce the risk of getting acute back pain.
- Bed rest: Keep bed rest as short as possible as lying in bed can
sometimes do more harm than good.
- Positive Attitute: Maintain a positive attitude will help you to return
to your normal day to day activities.
- Heat: Put a hot water bottle or heat pack over the affected area, or
take a hot bath.

over or near the site of pain. Select the points which most closely relate
to the site of discomfort.
- Pace: Its important that you do not begin to over do it as the pain
